Here are some pictures taken last Saturday at Ketilsstaðir. Freyja Amble Gískadottir visiting her horse Muggur frá Stangarholti which is 28 years old. Dam was Mugga frá Kleifum and sire Gáski frá Hofsstöðum. I believe Muggur is one of Gáski's latest offsprings, time flies. Freyja and Muggur had a successful career together. Among others, 2x Landsmót victory and nine times Icelandic champions.

This is Gljátoppur frá Miðhrauni 4 years old, dam is Salka frá Stuðlum 8,26 and sire is Álfarinn frá Syðri-Gegnishólum. A promising young stallion with a beautiful colour, his breeding lines are very interesting, his grandmothers are Þerna frá Arnarhóli and Álfadís frá Selfossi. They were in third and second place in the group of 4 year old mares at Landsmót 2000 and have both proved to be excellent breeding mares, both with Honorary price for offsprings.
Looks like this young stallion is not going to disappoint them.
Rider is Máni Hilmarsson, breeder Ólafur Ólafsson and owners Gísli Guðmundsson and Máni Hilmarsson.

First day of summer today, they promised sun but we didn’t see much of it. Anyway if you take a closer look you can see the grass growing and it’s a great day cause it’s all the Icelandic horses birthday today.

Yesterday we had a clinic for a group of riders from Sweden for about two and a half hour where we presented how we train the young horses and all the way to the competition. Four riders and about 14 horses took part, It ended with a visit to the herd looking at mares and to come yearlings where Álfadís as normally got most of the attention.
